Posted — UpdatedRALEIGH, N.C. — Battistella's in downtown Raleigh's City Market has closed, owners said Tuesday.
The restaurant, which served traditional New Orleans' cuisine, closed over the weekend.
Battistella's opened in City Market in 2010. It had previously been located in Crabtree Inn on Glenwood Avenue.
Owners said the City Market lease was nearing its end and they felt it was a good time to look at other ventures.
Former chef and the restaurant's namesake, Brian Battistella, left the restaurant more than two years ago. He is now focused on catering.
