— We hope you had a great Christmas. Now start recovering from that holiday and get ready for New Year's Eve! Check out our complete list of parties happening in and around the Triangle. 

Now onto this weekend's best bets: 

Head to Motorco Music Hall in Durham Friday night for some great local music. The all-ages DTFH Holiday Hangover features Among Giants, Wolvesx4 and Hissy Fits. Tickets are $7.

Comic Natasha Leggero brings her standup act to Goodnights Comedy Club in Raleigh this weekend. Leggero has appeared on “The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson,” “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno,” “Reno 911,” and “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia.” Tickets start at $15. Shows are Thursday through Saturday.

Some sports happening this weekend: 

Cheer on the Carolina Hurricanes Friday night as they take on the Pittsburgh Penguins at PNC Arena.

Top commitments to North Carolina State University, the University of North Carolina and Duke University are all in the field for the HighSchoolOT.com Holiday Invitational this weekend at Broughton High School in Raleigh. The tournament runs through Saturday. Admission is $12 for adults and $10 for those 10 years old and younger.

Some music: 

The seven-piece funk band with one of the best names around, Yo Mama’s Big Fat Booty Band, will play The Pour House Saturday night. This outfit out of Asheville is also known to dabble with some reggae, hip hop and jazz. Tickets start at $12.
