Baseball fundraiser raises money for Make-A-Wish

The seventh annual Bats for Matt fundraiser is Saturday, April 20. Join this family event for baseball, music, a silent auction and more!

CARY, N.C. — The Matt Cossa Memorial Foundation is holding its seventh annual Bats for Matt fundraiser on Saturday, April 20. Tickets are $5, and the proceeds will benefit Make-A-Wish Eastern North Carolina.
This fun family event takes place at Green Hope High School during their baseball team's match against Broughton. In addition to baseball, there will be live music, including performances by the UNC Loreleis, a magician, a silent auction, inflatables and more. Tickets are $5 for adults, and children 10 and under get in free.

Raffle tickets are $5 each, or $20 for five. The prizes are an iPad, a $150 Visa gift card and an iPod shuffle. There are many silent auction prizes, including a WRAL studio tour with Debra Morgan, rounds of golf at various area golf clubs, a weekend at the Washington Duke Inn and a Bald Head Island getaway,.

This event should be a lot of fun and benefits a good cause. The Matt Cossa Memorial Foundation was founded after Matt Cossa, a 2003 graduate of Green Hope, passed away from Hodgkin's Lymphona during his junior year at UNC-Chapel Hill. The foundation formed in his honor supports cancer patients, research and treatment.
Bats for Matt will benefit Make-A-Wish Eastern North Carolina, an organization which grants the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions.

Tickets to the event can be purchased at the day of the game beginning at noon.
