Bank robbery suspects sought in Fayetteville

Fayetteville police are searching for two men who robbed the First Citizens Bank on Bragg Boulevard on Friday.

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — Fayetteville police are searching for two men who robbed the First Citizens Bank on Bragg Boulevard on Friday. 

Police said the men walked into the bank around 1:40 p.m. and handed the teller a note demanding money. They left with an undisclosed amount of cash. 

Fayetteville police said there could be a connection between Friday's robbery and five others that occurred in the Fayetteville and Hope Mills area in the past month. 

Fayetteville police arrested Marvin Rashaad Cummings, 21, of 1220 Weeping Willow Way, on Wednesday in connection with those robberies and were working to identity a second robber when the First Citizens Robbery occurred on Friday.

The robberies Cummings was charged in are as follows: 

  • Sunoco, 6022 Raeford Road in Fayetteville, on Oct. 27
  • Exxon, 502 Grove St., on Oct. 29
  • Shortstop, 3400 Ramsey St. on Oct. 29
  • Shortstop, 1208 Bragg Blvd., on Oct. 30
  • RBC Centura bank in Hope Mills on Nov. 1
