Bank robber sought in Cary

— Cary police are seeking information about a bank robbery Monday afternoon.

Shortly after 1:30 p.m., Cary police were called to Wachovia Back at 10050 Green Level Church Road to investigate a robbery.

Witnesses said the suspect robbed the bank and then fled in a dark blue Ford SUV with a roof rack and minor damage to the rear bumper. An additional suspect was driving the car.

He was described as tall black man with a medium build, wearing dark jeans, a leather jacket and black toboggan hat.

Anyone with information is encouraged to call Cary police at 919-469-4324 or Crime Stoppers at 919-226-CRIME. Crime Stoppers offers rewards up to $2,500 for information leading to an arrest.

    there are some hungry folks out there....my guess is that it would be hard on a felon to get a job so he goes out and rob a bank....It would be nice if wral can report the amount stolen...I just want to see how he's living...I hope for all the trouble he went through to expose himself on camera he took at least 5k-10k....all through this week security needs to step up at the banks...somebody just might get hurt...

    Are we experiencing a spike in bank robberies compared to other years? It seems that way to me. Does anyone, including WRAL, have statistics?
