BAILEY, N.C. — A Bailey man was being held without bond after being accused of running a clandestine methamphetamine lab.

William Patrick Jernigan, 44, was arrested Thursday after a search of his 6993 Winters Road home by State Bureau of Investigation agents and investigators with the Nash and Wilson county sheriffs' offices.

A sawed-off 410 shotgun was also found at his house, said Capt. Pat Joyner, with the Nash County Sheriff's Office.

Jernigan was charged with manufacturing meth, possession of meth precursors and possession of a weapon of mass destruction. He was placed in the Nash County jail.

Joyner said that the investigation was ongoing.
