Halifax, N.C. — A Bailey man faces multiple charges stemming from reports of copper wire theft in Halifax County, the Halifax County Sheriff's Office said Sunday.
Douglas Charles Wood Jr., 35, has been charged with two counts of injury to utility wires, two counts of felony larceny and two counts of possession of stolen goods.
Wood's arrest comes after reports on April 4 and April 15 of copper wire thefts from utility poles in Littleton and Enfield.
Authorities have been investigating several other similar reports over the past six months in the area, and the sheriff's office said additional against Wood are possible.
He was in jail Sunday in Franklin County where he was being held without bond on a probation violation.
