@North Raleigh Dad that's why i don't shop walgreens anymore. i've been treated very rudely. one person told me "we can't let you get that for free, you have to pay SOMETHING" :(

  • Faye Prosser - Smart Shopper Aug 5, 2013

N Raleigh Dad - they are supposed to lower the amount of the coupon so the item is free with no overage. From their coupon policy:

"In the event that any item's selling price is less than the value of the coupon, Walgreens will only accept the coupon in exchange for the selling price of the item. Coupon redemption can never exceed the selling price of an item and no cash back is ever provided in exchange for any coupons."

    Full policy is found here:
    http://www.walgreens.com/topic/generalhelp/coupon_policy_main.jsp

In the past, my Walgreens has always just lowered the coupon amount to the price of the product and it was free (other than the tax).

    Hope that helps!

A question about Walgreens. I tried to use the 1. coupon on the .99 bic pens and was told since the coupon was over the value of the item, they could not accept it. Anyone else have this issue?

I got $1.50 off of 2 bic stationery products from their facebook page. I plan to use it at staples to get my limit 2 of the Bic mechanical pencils and one of the $1 dry erase markers and it should make it free.
