Fans always come out for us anywhere we go and to have it here at Reynolds Museum is a big major difference for us and the heat that comes with it, it is hard to play here for the other team. So it gave us the momentum of the energy and it did well for us. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Oh, it sounds so good. I still can't believe I'm so proud of this team. You know, how much we work in the summer, you know, we wasn't even ranked from the beginning and to be in the top 16 and I'm just so I'm just so proud of them. You know, we talked the other day about freshman but mad stepping up as well that it's so funny, you know, I see them work every day, you know, we come in to practice like an hour before practice and I see them uh and stuff like that and theyre working on their show. So just to come out in this type of games and do these type big plays. I'm so proud of this, obviously, that kind of goes there. What was the conversation all the time? Fourth quarter to keep the focus on. You know, you guys yourself. Yes. Uh We, you know, we came to a huddle, we told, we told each other they weren't gonna lay down and we won't lay down either. So the competitors on both sides it shows and I feel like we, we showed it more and at the end and yeah, we brought it out. I think he said that you guys didn't wait for we more or what was his uh he went in there, right? What was his message tonight? In what? In the film room? Um Just he would just proud of us and you know, he, he was just so proud of how we, how we work from the beginning to to here now and we're not satisfied, you know, we still got more games to go. We're gonna sit on this, we're gonna be happy for this for two good days and we're gonna be hungry for more. You know, there's only two schools in the entire nation and yes. Oh, it's so good to bring it back. You know, we gonna light it red like DJ Horn, why not us? Like, you know, why not the wolf pack? So let's light a red, we're gonna light it red for our pack fans.

So we're, we're hurt right now. But, uh, you know, we're gonna take, we're gonna take them on our shoulder. We wanna get some recovery watch film. You know, we got a whole another tournament left. You know, this, this outcome wanted to, I'm sorry, we didn't want this outcome or whatever, but, you know, we're just gonna take it up and just take it from the next tournament in the fourth quarter. Um You all kind of struggled a little bit down. The stretch was, was there something that Notre Dame was doing different? What, what was happening there in those final few minutes? Um You know, our ba our shots just going in and stuff like that. We was playing good defense but you know, it's OK. It would be all right. We'll, we'll, we'll be back next year for sure. This, um, you know, you, you get a week off now. What, what's the next few days look like? How do you adjust from this and then move forward to the NCAA tournament? Uh taking it right now. Leaving it here. We're leaving all our films here. Um We're gonna just recovery first of all watch film and look what we did this game and not let it happen next game. And I know it's, um, you know, it's, it's always hard to look kind of with perspective in a moment like this, but, you know, you all do have the NCAA tournament still. Is that, does that make it? Yeah, I guess easier to kind of step forward after this loss, you know, uh, I wanna say, make it easier, you know, everything, every, every game is gonna be a fight for us. So, you know, it's, it's gonna be good to, you know, bring it back home in the first two games. Um, so we're just gonna be prepared and be ready.

How do you feel? Um I feel like I did good, you know, I executed everything that coach Morris had us, uh to do. Um, you know, I had to help with my team as well, so it won't only be playing out there. So, you know, we had Mimi Collins, you know, we had Madison Hayes and Sona too. So it's just not me out there. At what point did you go? It was you were completely comfortable with your shot. Everything felt good. So was it from the start or just as the game went on? Definitely from the start just going into the game and getting that almost fast break, uh, tip uh from the start and then get the what last second three, you know, that gave my momentum up. What is that like? How much is it to just be on the court with her and watch her? And it makes my life 10 times more easier. I mean, naturally, just because of what type of great player she is. Um And just being able to play off her, like when I know when she's coming off this ball screen, it's like if you watch me, my heads are in the air because I know the ball's going in. So it's like just understanding how important it is for me to set her a great screen and knowing that she's gonna make something happen regardless and we feed off of each other very well and talking about making your life easier. You guys got her back in the lineup today. How much nicer is it whenever he's available to this team? It's amazing. I love you. I love it. I really do. Um But I loved playing both. Um I loved being able to be that versatile, being able to defend, but I ain't gonna lie. I love it. I don't have to go and guard 66 all the time. But having river back just from what she's has done for this team with taking charges and having a double, double and rebounding, I think that has helped our team. Um We missed it in the certain games back. We didn't have a lot of charge stops like how she did. Um But having her back and she looked like she didn't miss a beat. So it's just a great thing to have her back. Definitely. It, it, it, it feels watching her and the post said that she was like we limit, you can see her limping around a little bit, so we're getting used to it. How, what happens does that give to you all see her push through to try and get back earlier and be on the court. So we said forget those limit minutes. We looked at her, we said, are you good? She said I'm perfect and we just rolled with after it. But yeah, they tried it but it's ok. Yeah, much more than probably what's, have you had a situation like mine? What's it like? And do it? You all appreciate that, that request for attention? Ok. Yeah, he treats you like a pro um and he demands that out of you. So um just coming in the games like like everybody saw Miami wasn't our best, but we came in and we wanted to bounce back because we didn't wanna be like last year's team and we didn't wanna be that have a team that just want to sit down and roll over and just take all the punches. We want to be able to fight back and just being able to have him challenge us. We know that it's coming from a good place and it's coming from the heart. It's not like he just don't care about us like you could see how much he cares about us. And this team just the same thing, basically the same thing as her, you know, coach Moore pushes us every day, you know, like he said, always in practice if he don't yelling out your name, you know that that means something. So just for him to just push us every day, even though we've been the last two losses and stuff like that. We've been dragging, you know, just working hard and, yeah, it's just paying off back then. I don't feel you didn't know. Yeah. To rodent Indian stuff last year. Those kind of Georgia Tech. How do you prevent that from happening? Do you think Clemson and Boston College? How we treated practice? Um, practice is such a big thing. I think we have, um, two great practices coming in before Duke. Um That's what it starts with, it starts with practice and our approach and our mental and just the way we prep and the way we watch film. So we just have to do that as a team. And I think everybody on this team has that mindset, including the coaching staff, of course, coach, I'm sorry, Coach Moore kind of describe this is like the dog days of the season, I could switch the AC C calendar. What's the key to kind of keep an eye and easy up? And as experienced players, do you all have any advice for a fresh because we gonna do this for the first time, just maintaining the focus. Um Just keep it the work, work at the up and stuff like that and just not get down on yourself. You know, if you have a bad play, just keep going boo yourself and stuff like that. Staying together, I think as a team, like everybody's gonna be hurt, everybody's body is gonna hurt, everybody's gonna be tired. But it's like if we can come together, like I was, I said, mentally as a team and just have the will to win, nobody can stop us. Now, I had seven steals, I think. And, um, you had 19 turnovers in general for free to one of you. What, what was working so well, so is, is like that, if she not defensive player of the year, then I don't know what it is, man. Um She just gets after it defensively and it's like, it's hard for all of them including like guards. Like it, it's hard for a lot of guards to get by her because she's just 61. She used her length and she's just always in the path lane and her basketball cues is super high. So if she don't win it, uh I don't know. AC C you gotta have to talk eight of those games in the first quarter. How important was that for y'all to really get on Duke early and go off um early in the week because we always talk about defense, you know, you know how Duke was gonna attack us. So just containing them and getting them off the three line, which is our main focus. So as a team we just chose defense first. I know like as y'all see in the beginning, um starting five has our holes and that starting five we just chose, we said, let's do defense first, like, don't pick the offense first, do the defense first and everything else will follow up and open up for each other when you shut it down. Did you? It's no different. It was just within the club. Um, just working hard, you know, I've been off lately so just getting a gym before practice and stuff like that is just working some coach if you been war that the players, um, we, we do on our own, like you'll see people come in an hour before practice, even start and just working on their self. So I think this is definitely a player led team play in me is that this is a place that has its own. You play the plea gene like that because there's so much of a problem 1000% easier like the Wolf Pack Nation is everything and more to us, uh whenever we're down or like they went, like they went on a run and go to a media time out. Our fans went crazy just to give us that boost of energy. So Wolfpack Nation is everything that we need and want and more so it really helps a lot and it makes our job 10 times easier play. Last year when we was at their house, I feel like we did it for, you know, that she wanted to be and it was hard to see her go down. So I feel like, you know, as we took up and you did it for her at the end when she went down, initially, they, they tried the four in one out, then eventually y'all spaced it to five in and that's kind of when you started driving, that really did change. Do you think that helped at the back end of the game? Um Yeah, I think that like just spreading them out cause you know, number um 2021 Simpson, she was just sitting in there the whole time. Um We were just trying to make her come out. Um And that's where I got a lot of her buckets. Um Naya as well and a couple of us always. So I think that just really helped change the game and the pace of our game. So, so what does it say about this team that you guys can face adversity like this and win? Um Just the hard work we put in um throughout every day and from the summer and stuff like that and the, the focus we put in on film and just everything we do. We just, this team is just wonderful. I feel like the hard work is just paying off right now. Um I feel like we're resilient in a way. I feel like we can fight through adversity in any type of way. I mean, we play uconn, we play Colorado now, Florida State. Um I feel like we've proved to ourselves that we can fight through adversity. So the more we do that, the more we'll win, the threes weren't going down early. My memory, I think you hit the first one in overtime and I think you beat the shot clock, three pointers were they? And you said that gave you kind of a separation that y'all needed. Um I think like when I hit the first three, I'm like, OK, like, you know, we're getting back in this like we're good. Um Just, we were more worried about getting back on defense. They're a really good transition team. Um worried about stopping Tenaya, you know, I play with her a U days but, you know, this is what we were came to do and then Zaza hit a big three down the stretch and we needed that. So Florida State, you know, played with a lot of physicality. They were, you know, they were all over the place. Um You know, what do you think? You learned, um, you know, that you're gonna hopefully take going forward in terms of just like, yeah, that physicality and that movement, um, we're gonna be facing that every game, I mean, but that's just something that, you know, for our strength and conditioning coach, we with them every day. So, um, I feel like, you know, we're big bodies too, not just, you know, the opponents, so they gotta deal with us too on the physicality this year is a target on your back. Now, at the beginning of the season, you guys did that make you guys and has helped to where you are right now. I love it. Yeah, I say I would just say put a chip on our shoulder. I love being an underdog. I love when people not focus on us so we can just boom, just knock them right in the first quarter like we just did. So I, I love that type of thing. Oh Yeah, I loved it. I mean, like, you know, you had us at 27th and you know, oh, they think uconn's gonna come in here and who our butt like last year. Um And you saw what happened um in Colorado the same way and we were away in Virgin Islands where we could have just been chilling and relaxing. Nah, like we take every game personally. Um And that's just who we are as a team and we just got to sit together on every game. So the mind set when you were 10 and then Florida State real yall in there during the break like between overtime. So, I mean, it looked like on the outside that would be an advantage to Florida State because they were the ones rallying. What was it about y'all that led y'all to the waiver, this man, uh, stay focus, you know, the team on the time out, uh, just encouraging each other and not playing each other down, you know, just things like that. Just the coach is helping us as well. Just keeping the focus and the encouragement. I have to ask you about Zoe Brooks. Have you ever seen a freshman? Oh, no, I mean, she's great for our team. Um She brings that fire that she needs. She's probably not as emotional and, you know, passionate on the outside, but she gives a lot of great things to us, steals defense. She's very energetic and I love that about her. Um She just feelings up here for her. So, um I mean, our fans, you know, I feel like they're best in the country, in my opinion, you know, I feel like it ain't, ain't no 2nd 3rd, no, they're top one for sure. So I'm glad they came out, especially with school, not starting back up yet. You know, I'm glad they came out and supported us and we needed it because that definitely changed the game as well. So, and uh talking about state's physicality. You earn a lot of trips to the line because of that sort of inside play. How important was it to capitalize on those threes, especially down the stretch. Uh, we work on free throws every day. So, you know, not for real. Ok. So, you know, it just came over to us, you know, we, we already knew like they couldn't guard our guards on the outside. So just attacking them was just our main point at the end. This is the fourth time in program history for the team to start 14 and out. And the third time under Coach Moore, what does he do that, you know, can really get the best out of each player? Um I feel like he believes in us. I feel like he trusts us. I feel like, you know, when we're out there on the floor, he's making sure like we're getting the best out of everybody's game. Um I feel like that, um He puts us in the best position as possible. Um He doesn't get panicked a lot. Um Especially in this overtime, he didn't really panic at all. Um Which makes me believe, you know, he's got confidence in us and I, I feel like he always has. So, yeah, have you seen two players improve as much as they have from one season to the next? I mean, um I feel like, you know, River, you know, coming off of the bench from last year. I feel like now she's proving her point, especially after the Colorado game. I mean, she's been on go every game, every practice. Uh, Mimi's got her shot, you know, and it looks good. So, um, you know, they're gonna have to guard her outside too and I feel like they're both a force to be reckoned with for sure. It's always fun. It gives us energy for real. We needed them. Uh, kind of quick turnaround. Did you go to Blood Tech? I mean, it, it just, it's a garment. How, how fun is that to just be, be grinder like that. Talk to you after top team. Yeah. Just opportunities. Just taking opportunities every day, you know. Um, people, like you said, people didn't expect us to be up here. So.

Just us huddling up even after AAA foul, just huddle up and having each other back and motivating each other and stuff like that and getting the job done. I I, what was it like for you guys could talk about the freshman to see them go out there and do what they did, especially Zoe didn't seem like she was scared at all and she was jumping up if you having rebounds and everything. What was it like? You know, to see them go out there and do that? Just me and I main focus this week was just telling the freshman you're not freshman this week, it's time to wake up and get older. This is a game to prepare for and I feel like they did. They got the job done today especially. So the very end at the end, I can't explain it. It, it was crazy. It was crazy that we won and stuff like that. I want to say crazy that we won. Sorry. But just the moment was crazy and just the I could share that with my teammate, you know, just, it was beautiful.

We'll start with an opening statement and coach more, go to a couple of questions to the players and let's get out of here and get some rest and then go back to coach more so you can go a head coach. Yeah, I'm just really proud of the effort and the way they kept playing obviously down 10 points with, I don't know about for something left in the game and regulation and uh they didn't quit, you know, they kept competing and made some big plays. Uh you know, both these young ladies here hit some big shots for us and made some plays and but the whole team really uh you know, rose to the occasion had been real easy, just uh you know, say wasn't gonna happen and was not tonight, but uh they kept battling and uh you know, it made for an unbelievable win and uh memorable game and the only thing we didn't have an onside kick to help do it. But uh great win the question, that would be great. Um considering, I mean, just a couple basketball games over time, it just feels great, especially, you know, being back at home, we know that we have a couple of tough, tough games to play and we just need this momentum. So it just feels great to have this win to just go into the next, get some big shots there time. Yeah, I definitely started with confidence. You know, my team, my teammates, my coaches were telling me, you know, shoot it with confidence without thinking. So I knew they had confidence confidence in me and I just knocked it down because I um, you have the chance to get to steal, potentially win the game. You missed that layup and then you come through with some of the most difficult thing I've ever seen in over time. I mean, I guess how did you kind of compartmentalize but felt maybe like heartbreak and then just my team, my team, my coaches just told me to not be down on myself. We still have over time, we still have time to fight back and just together this how our team just become this last, that last over time. How's it feel? Oh, I feel wonderful. We need, we needed that win. Like we really needed that win to get us back on track and she did make the layup that tied the game too. So a contested layup. So yeah, don't forget that. What about the, when you guys went full court pressure. What about that? Both helped you guys and you feel like maybe hurt them. I feel like the press just brings energy in us. Uh, it gets the momentum going in the game just to stop their ball, but just to give us more energy to, you know, get some stills and put um, get some layups for us. Like you said, like when we're in the press, we, we like to get after it. So it just makes us make plays and we love that In the fourth quarter state and fourth quarter in overtime state scored 40 points and it's been a struggle lately offensively how much of a releases that when it starts to okay, finally we're doing what we can do just what does that release like and does that give you confidence? Yeah, it just feels good. You know, we're sharing the ball, we're knocking down shots when we play together and we're knocking down shots were a beautiful, we we can do it just to piggyback off kids just like she said, we just needed that win and I feel like we were just stuck in the spot and just being together and just, you know, team bonding and stuff. Just, you know, just help us get back when you beat Carolina at this school. It's a big deal. A lot of people on radio, social media calling this the design James gay. Yes, We take it personally. We take every game every game personally. But you won't see, we definitely take it personally. You know, they're down the road. So you know, we always want that win. How does it feel that, you know, you know that you contributed to a big rivalry win. It means a lot to be. Yeah, it means a lot to me as well just to give back to the fans, you know, they pay all this money for, you know, seating and stuff like that. So I felt like we should, you know play, how we know how we, sorry, you know how we can play and just, you know, give the energy. It was so loud, I couldn't even hear my thoughts. Yeah, we love the fans so much. They definitely bring us a lot of energy and we love we love them. Was there a point during the comeback where you kind of knew like we got it going now? Like, like, you know, I don't know about overtime position as a kid that hit those two threes. Yeah, we knew we had that game, once we got, once we got going making plays and were in rhythm, like just make us want to keep going after and getting after it so that we knew that we had a chance. We took it, I guess this was spreading out even before that last stretch when you guys were able to force turnovers, You guys had a guess advantage with best break points early in the first half. What led to that discrepancy between both sides? Just getting out and running? That's one of the main things that coach moore tells us to do is just run the floor. We want to get easy points. So we made it our goal to just run the floor and just try to score easy layups. Yeah, 30, Fast break points. Okay, made a big difference. Good job. Uh you guys went into the, how happy were you with that? Yeah, again, you know, it's just situation and obviously we were in, we were in the hole, we were in some trouble and we needed to try to make some things happen and you know, we weren't really doing a great job in a half court to be honest. So uh just tried to extend it and as you said, create some energy and get everybody going. So uh you know, it's a double edged sword, it puts them in a bad tough situation because I and I've been in it before too, because you want to make the other team pay for pressing, you know, if you can beat it and get a a really good look early, you want to take it. But that also speeds the game up and gives the pressing team more possessions and more opportunities to get back in the game. And so even when we didn't maybe get a turnover, we got them to maybe take an early shot and gave us an opportunity to get back in it and obviously we needed about every second of it. Uh I don't know when as I hit the layup to tie the game, but it was, you know, not a whole lot of time left, so, but definitely as the player said, it gives them energy and gets them going and but I still like to pick my spots, I don't know that I'm I don't know that, I mean coach keith's class, you know, he can he can press the whole game and and make it work but uh I'm probably not up with him so but it's definitely been good for us this season. Yeah Coach Dorn was here. Coach Keats, it's been kind of tough year guys. I mean let's face it, we uh we we've created a monster here. We got pretty high expectations. We lost four starters that we're here for in five years and that you know had great careers. Uh But yeah you know our expectations are to be there every year. And coach Keats and Coach Doren had been there for me uh you know after a tough loss, whatever they're reaching out to me telling me to hang in there, they get it, they know how tough it is and uh so you know coach Keats text me after every game and coach door and being here tonight and uh means a lot. They're they're unbelievable guys and N. C. State is lucky to have both of them A little bit little bit under the weather. Yeah but it feels better now. Yeah we needed it, we needed it badly and obviously we were in trouble I think down 10 like I said with four something left. Um you know we've had some tough losses this year to be honest. You know we've been we've done we've been a pretty good team at home in the past and we've let a couple of home games get away from us going on the road and lost something that, you know, we felt like we really needed to win. So, uh, we're fighting for our lives. I mean, we've, we've really struggled shooting them all. I mean, in case y'all didn't notice and it's just tough. I mean, when you're not making, you know, not making threes or whatever, I mean at halftime, what were we at halftime from three One for 13? I mean, guys, that's grinding. You know, I mean, and I think I still believe in them. I still believe we got people that can knock down threes and knock down shots, but at some point we got to start doing it a little more consistently. Uh, because it really puts a lot of pressure on your defense. Uh, when, when you're not scoring one of those guys that can knock down shots obviously has a track record, some clutch shots. Um, like tonight in the past, what was your, I guess, expectation when you saw her raise up at the end of regulation for that three pointer? What was your, Yeah, I mean, again, y'all, you know, I believe in jah Kia. Uh, I mean, be honest with this, she's had a rough year shooting the ball, but I've stuck with her because she's proven what she can do over the last three years and so I'm not gonna give up on her. Um, so, you know, tonight it paid off, you know, we wouldn't have won this game tonight without her hitting those big shots. So hopefully it'll give her some confidence moving forward and, and maybe it'll be contagious and we'll get some others, you know, and you know, I'm, I'm honest, I shoot you straight. I was disappointed. We shot around at uh, 2 45 today. They didn't have class today because it was a wellness day. All right. And you know, I was hoping they'd come in here and shoot a little bit, but didn't happen. So again, at some point, you gotta realize winning comes out of price. You don't just in this league, you don't just fall into wins. You gotta prepare. You gotta go through a process and this team's got to realize that in a hurry that they gotta do, they gotta do a little extra and do the little things, especially while we're not shooting as well as we'd like. We gotta figure it out and that's the way life is. You know, nothing's free, Nothing's given. We gotta, we gotta figure it out and get to work. Uh, not really. I mean, they may have came in a little bit early, but again, just saying, and we had, we had an hour and 15 minutes shoot around. So I get that, but you know, at this level, you might wanna do a little extra, especially when we're struggling. You know, so again, hey, great effort, they pulled it out, but we're running out of time. We're running out of time a little bit looser than they were earlier in the game. I don't know, we had some big wins early in the year, so maybe we need to tighten back up, you know, I don't know, you know, big wins over Iowa on the road and, you know, Louisville on the road, Notre Dame here at home, some ranked teams. Uh, and I don't know if I had to answer, I try to apply it, but I hadn't figured it out yet. So, uh, you know, just keep grinding, gotta keep working and, and hope we can, you just want to play up to your potential, you know, as a coach, if we don't, it's on me. And uh, so we got to just find a way, but again, this is a big win tonight and hopefully it gives them some confidence and also gives them some energy and excitement about, you know, hey, we just got a couple of weeks left here folks and uh, you know, let's try to try to push this envelope as far as we can. Yeah, yeah, you know, definitely, they, I mean, she killed us at their place and uh, she's a great player, you know, she fills up a stat sheet. You know, I had her on the scout just in case and my goodness, I mean, she's like top five in the league and field goal percentage, rebounding, uh, steals block shots, She fills up a stat sheet, but Mcpherson, uh, she was the top 20 coming out of high school and we you know, we recruited her hard, I believe she's a top 10 player in the country coming out of high school, uh great player and uh you know, had A. C. L. A year ago. But yeah, so they you know, don't feel too sorry for them, you know, they're able to throw out some, You know, some some all Americans over there if they want to from the bench. So uh again, uh give them a lot of credit, they came in here and and really for 35 minutes uh kicked our butts, but again, proud that our players made it a 45 minute game. Uh she's you know, she's not 100% and she's not able to practice all the time. So, you know, I don't know that it will ever be 100% until the season's over and you have time to really rested. But uh you know, Diamonds a great player and same way I did with Shakya, you know, we'll keep throwing her out there, but at some point, y'all you gotta go with who you think is gonna get it done that night and uh you know, we got nine players and I trust all nine of them. I just don't know when which five are gonna show up night tonight, unfortunately. So uh kind of just like keep throwing it out there and hope something sticks and uh but diamond, for whatever reason, was having a tough night and like I said, I know she's not 100% and I know she's not able to practice, like we'd like for her to, so, uh, again, just keep hoping and praying it gets better. Yeah, yeah, you know, has got unbelievable ability, talent. Uh, you know, it's different, you know, I'm just uh, recruiting high school kids, having them for four years, watching them grow and develop and watching our team grow and develop. You know, those days are gone. You know, uh, I used to sit in church during a lull in the uh, service and on my bulletin right out my depth chart, you know, for the next few years, the Lord said, okay, you're not doing that anymore. Uh, no need to figure a depth chart because again, you don't know who's gonna be back and who's coming in, but, you know, as I, as you know, it's just a big jump from high school to this level. And uh, so, you know, there's probably been times I've gone with the veterans, but we know as I a can be a great player and, and hopefully she'll keep growing and uh, we'll see her really shine, you know, from this point on, but also for the next couple of years, okay, appreciate you all being here, next time I need y'all to, to be a little quieter over there, okay, you're killing me
