Avent Ferry Road in Raleigh was closed Wednesday after a water main broke at Ivy Commons Drive. 

<b>RALEIGH, N.C.</b> — A water main break at Ivy Commons Drive closed part of Avent Ferry Road in Raleigh Wednesday.

Raleigh police set up detours at Varsity Drive on the north and Crest Road on the south and diverted traffic around the area.

Crews cut the water but did not reopen the road until Thursday morning.

According to the Sampson County Sheriff's Office, a school resource officer discovered the body of a man inside a vehicle at Hobbton Middle School athletic field. Authorities believe the man died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
