Durham, N.C. — A woman found in a Durham field in October died as a result of multiple gunshot wounds, according to an autopsy report released Thursday.
The body of Cheradi Elizabeth Lynch, 32, was found in an undeveloped section of the 100 block of Ganyard Farm Way in early October.
“I thought it was a mannequin. I didn’t get up close, but I’m 100 percent sure it was a woman,” said a 911 caller who discovered Lynch’s body.
An autopsy report said that Lynch sustained five gunshot wounds to her head, including one that entered through her left eye.
The report also stated that Lynch had a laceration on her scalp and multiple cuts and bruises on her head, neck, torso and extremities.
The report states that the body was in the very early stages of decomposition when it was found and was covered in flies, fly eggs, maggots and plant material.
An arrest has not been made in connection with Lynch’s death. Anybody with information is asked to call Durham police at 919-560-4440 or Crime Stoppers at 919-683-1200.
