Autopsy: Multiple shots killed Goldsboro motel employee

A man killed at a Goldsboro motel Dec. 14 died of multiple gunshot wounds to the head, according to an autopsy report released Thursday.

GOLDSBORO, N.C. —  A man killed at a Goldsboro motel Dec. 14 died of multiple gunshot wounds to the head, according to an autopsy report released Thursday.

The bodies of Suryakant Patel, 65, and his wife, Bhavanaben Patel, 61, were discovered inside Room 108 of America's Best Value Inn, 701 U.S. Highway 70 Bypass. The couple worked at the motel and lived in the room, authorities said.

Police and agents with the State Bureau of Investigation are investigating the deaths as homicides.
