RALEIGH, N.C. — An autopsy has confirmed that a 26-year-old man who fell from his fifth-floor balcony in June likely jumped.

Andrew Edward Linnenburger died from shock due to extensive internal injuries from the fall.

Linnenburger hit the windshield and hood of an SUV parked on West Johnson Street, police said. He then walked a short distance on Glenwood Avenue and died.

Police found him at 510 Glenwood Ave. around 7:30 a.m. on June 15.

In the autopsy, officials said Linnenburger’s balcony rail was too high for him to have accidentally fallen over it. No drugs or alcohol were found in Linnenburger’s system.
