Autopsy: Harnett woman died of drug overdose
A Harnett County woman found dead in her home in May overdosed on prescription morphine, according to autopsy results released Friday.
Posted — UpdatedTina Marie Lester, 37, and her husband Jonathan Brian Lester, 34, were found dead inside their home at 72 Emerald Lane in Broadway on May 16, according to the Harnett County Sheriff's Office. The autopsy report states that Tina Lester was on the floor of her bedroom.
Tina Lester had a lethal amount of morphine in her blood high above the prescribed dosage, the autopsy found. She had knee and hip problems and had been prescribed morphine.
A toxicology test also found toxic levels of diazepam, diphenhydramine and gabapentin in her blood, along with lower levels of verapamil, caffeine, promethazine and ethanol.
The autopsy determined that the cause of death was acute morphine toxicity.
Results of an autopsy for Jonathan Brian Lester haven't been released.
Authorities have said they don't suspect foul play in the deaths.
