DURHAM, N.C. — A man whose body was found inside a Durham home in February was stabbed to death, according to an autopsy report released Friday.

Officers found the bodies of Martin Martinez, 42, and Toni Elaine Fowler, 46, inside their 111 Lynn Road home on Feb. 7 after a concerned relative asked police to check on the home. The relative told police that cars were parked outside the house, but no one answered the door.

Martinez was stabbed numerous times, including one wound that pierced his left lung.

An autopsy report on Fowler released last month found she was also stabbed multiple times, including in her left lung. She bled to death.

Police said the slayings were not random, and a search warrant states that officers seized a knife, bullets, a bat with hair on it and a sword from the home.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call the Durham Police Department at 919-560-4440, extension 29322, or Crime Stoppers at 919-683-1200.
