— One person was killed in a two-car crash on Interstate 440 at Western Boulevard late Tuesday morning, police said.

The wreck happened at about 10:20 a.m., closing the westbound lanes of the Beltline for about 3 hours.

Police said Alice Bernice Barrett, 84, of Holly Springs, was killed when her car ran off the roadway.

No additional information was immediately available.
