Authorities searching for missing Moore County man

Moore County authorities were searching Tuesday for a missing 31-year-old who is believed to be cognitively impaired.

EAGLE SPRINGS, N.C. — Moore County authorities were searching Tuesday for a missing 31-year-old who is believed to be cognitively impaired. 

The North Carolina Center for Missing Persons issued a Silver Alert for Maurice Cornelius Spencer about 9 a.m. after he went missing from a home on McCoy Lane in Eagle Springs.

Spencer, who goes by the nickname "Fella," is black with black hair and brown eyes. He stands about 5 feet 4 inches tall and weighs about 140 pounds. 

He was wearing black shorts when he went missing. Authorities weren't sure where Spencer may be headed. 

Anyone with information on Spencer's whereabouts should call the Moore County Sheriff's Office at 910-947-2931.
