Two arrested after authorities discover meth lab in Linden

Sheriff's deputies responded to a home located at 8033 Vera Drive at about 3 p.m. and arrested 26-year-old Joshua Mitchell Mason and 28 year-old Nicole Christine Lancaster.

Following the call, Cumberland County sheriff’s deputies conducted an investigation and obtained a search warrant for the home. During the search, the narcotics unit discovered a meth lab at the home and arrested 26-year-old Joshua Mitchell Mason and 28 year-old Nicole Christine Lancaster. Mason and Lancaster both lived in the home.

Mason and Lancaster face multiple charges, including the manufacture of methamphetamine, the possession of methamphetamine precursor materials, maintaining a dwelling for the purpose of the manufacturing of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia. Their bonds are set at $16,000 each.

Neighbors in the area hope the bust will help solve a growing problem.

"They need to crack down on it because it is not only here, it is any place that you go," said Elizabeth Bowden who lives nearby. "If they don't start cracking down on it then it is just going to get totally where it is going to be at anybody's back door."

Mason and Lancaster are expected to have a first appearance before a district court judge on Friday at 2:30 p.m. in the Cumberland County Detention Center courtroom.
