Three families displaced after Raleigh fire

Authorities responded to a fire at an apartment complex at the 2400 block of Pumpkin Ridge Way Saturday around 5:30 p.m.

RALEIGH, N.C. — Authorities said three families were left homeless when a fire destroyed four town homes in the 2400 block of Pumpkin Ridge Way Saturday afternoon in Raleigh.

No one was inside the homes when fire began around 5:30 p.m., officials said. A spokesperson with the Raleigh Fire Department said more than 60 firefighters responded to the fire.

The fire was deemed accidental, according to the incident report.

Police told WRAL News that one family pet was killed in the fire on Saturday.
