Enloe graduate found dead in Charlotte home

Authorities have identified the body of a woman found dead inside a home in Charlotte.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Authorities have identified the body of a woman found dead inside a home in Charlotte.

Officials say officers responded to a welfare check at around 2:30 p.m. Wednesday found 34-year-old Jennifer Renee Smith inside a home. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

According to Matt Dees with the Wake County Public School System, Smith graduated from Enloe High School in 2001.

Investigators say they are waiting for the Medical Examiner's Office to determine a cause of death.

Authorities are investigating Smith's death as a homicide and have not announced any arrests.
