Enloe graduate found dead in Charlotte home

Posted April 6

— Authorities have identified the body of a woman found dead inside a home in Charlotte.

Officials say officers responded to a welfare check at around 2:30 p.m. Wednesday found 34-year-old Jennifer Renee Smith inside a home. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

According to Matt Dees with the Wake County Public School System, Smith graduated from Enloe High School in 2001.

Investigators say they are waiting for the Medical Examiner's Office to determine a cause of death.

Authorities are investigating Smith's death as a homicide and have not announced any arrests.

My God why does it matter? Parents lost a daughter, her twin lost her other half. She went through Wake County Schools. Is that reason enough for you? Real petty.

I was confused also. Why the need to refer to her as a high school graduate from 16 years ago?

It seems weird to report on a 34 year old woman being an Enloe graduate. Is this just to make the story somehow relevant to Raleigh?
