Authorities: Man dealt in hot air conditioners

A Hoke County man was charged Monday with dealing in stolen property after deputies found several air conditioning units at his home, authorities said.

RAEFORD, N.C. — A Hoke County man was charged Monday with dealing in stolen property after deputies found several air conditioning units at his home, authorities said.

Thomas Franklin Wright Sr., 60, of 143 Dudley St., was charged with seven counts of receiving stolen property, eight counts of stolen property, one count of altering or removing a manufacturer's serial number and six counts of possessing manufacturer's serial numbers.

Wright was released from the Hoke County Jail after posting a $50,000 secured bond.

Deputies searched a home on Dudley Street after being tipped off that stolen air conditioners were being delivered to the home and were being resold, authorities said.
