Authorities link Clayton crash to Sheetz theft

Two people were injured when a pickup flipped and crashed in Clayton.

— Authorities in Johnston County linked a theft just after 2 a.m. to the crash of a pick-up truck into a carport nearby.

Two people were hurt when their silver Chevy S-10 ran off the road, crossed several lawns and flipped into a parked car and carport on Corbett Road.

Clayton police, investigating the the report of wine stolen from a Sheetz store, said the truck matched the description given by a Sheetz clerk. They did not identify the two people in the truck. Both were taken to area hospitals.
