— North Carolina State University officials are investigating after a sexual assault was reported Saturday night near the Memorial Bell Tower.

An alert sent out by the university said that a female student reported that an unknown man approached her from behind and put his arms around her at about 11:15 p.m. The woman told police that the man put his other hand into her pants and fondled her.

The woman was able to get away and the man fled the scene in an unknown direction, authorities said.

No weapons were used during the incident.

The man is described as being 6 feet tall and white. He was wearing a grey sweatshirt and shorts.

Anybody with information is asked to call the North Carolina State University Police Department at 919-515-3000.

Mace, pepper spray or a taser should be carried by all. No, I do not think some in society, should have a concealed carry, handgun. As they would hesitate and it would be used against them.
