Authorities investigate fatal crash in Fayetteville

The crash happened shortly after 4 a.m. near the intersection of Blake Street and Sherman Avenue. The 911 call center received a distress signal from the vehicle’s on-board notification system and dispatched officers to the location.

Officers arrived and found the car struck a tree on a residential property. The male driver was dead at the scene. His identity was not immediately released pending notification of family.
