Drug investigation surrounds Apex hazmat situation
Authorities were on the scene of a hazmat situation Thursday afternoon at an Apex home near Olive Chapel Road and Richardson Road.
Posted — UpdatedFire, EMS and officers with the Wake County Sheriff’s office were on the scene, and Sky 5 video showed hazmat crews focusing on a shed behind the home.
Authorities said that investigators served a search warrant at 2632 Olive Chapel Road as a result of a drug complaint and an ongoing investigation.
The home did not appear to be an active lab, police said.
Seven adults and an 18-month-old child were in the house at the time the warrant was served. They were all decontaminated by Raleigh Hazmat.
Kevin Shaun Williams, 32, Matthew Scott Godbold, 30, Brittany Michelle Carter, 23, and Justin Roger Lee, 28, were all charged with possession of methamphetamine, possession of precursors, maintaining a dwelling, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Williams, Godbold, Carter and Lee are all due in court on Friday.
A woman and the child were taken from the scene by a Wake County EMS unit.
