Chatham body that of missing Siler City woman

Chatham County authorities confirmed on Thursday that the body of a woman found in a creek last week was that of Daphne Forster, 38, who was last seen Oct. 9 in Pittsboro.

PITTSBORO, N.C. — Chatham County authorities confirmed on Thursday that the body of a woman found in a creek last week was that of Daphne Forster, 38, who was last seen Oct. 9 in Pittsboro.

Investigators didn't release more information about her disappearance or the circumstances of her death, but did say they are treating the case as a homicide.

Authorities found her body Oct. 10 along Chicken Bridge Road in northern Chatham County, about 24 hours after her family last saw her.

Authorities said Thursday that they still have not found the blue 1995 Chevrolet Cavalier Forster was last seen driving. It has a North Carolina license plate, number WVY-6036.

Anyone with information about Forster's car or other information about the case is asked to call the Chatham County Sheriff’s Office at 919 542-2911.
