— Chatham County authorities confirmed on Thursday that the body of a woman found in a creek last week was that of Daphne Forster, 38, who was last seen Oct. 9 in Pittsboro.

Investigators didn't release more information about her disappearance or the circumstances of her death, but did say they are treating the case as a homicide.

Authorities found her body Oct. 10 along Chicken Bridge Road in northern Chatham County, about 24 hours after her family last saw her.

Authorities said Thursday that they still have not found the blue 1995 Chevrolet Cavalier Forster was last seen driving. It has a North Carolina license plate, number WVY-6036.

Anyone with information about Forster's car or other information about the case is asked to call the Chatham County Sheriff’s Office at 919 542-2911.

Glad they found who she was. At least the family knows now and can have a decent burial and not wait years and years wondering where she is at. My prayer are for this family and friends. May God continue to bless all of you.

why was there no mention of her body being burned? that is what the local sheriffs are saying. and a day later a man was found at the boat ramps of jordan lake on fire? they beleive it was self inflicted and no relation to the forster case. well if i was to put 2 and 2 together i would certainly think these were related.
