Authorities ID body found in Fayetteville recycling plant

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — The Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office has identified a woman whose body was found Thursday inside a Fayetteville recycling plant.
Margie Bernard McLaurin, 53, of the 2300 block of Edgar Street, was the subject of a Silver Alert issued by the state Monday.
An employee of Pratt Industries, at 3780 Owen Drive, discovered McLaurin’s body in a pile of cardboard boxes and called authorities.
According to the Silver Alert, McLaurin was last seen in the vicinity of her home. Her body has been sent to the medical examiner to determine a cause of death.
