RALEIGH, N.C. — A 21-year-old man was in serious condition after being shot Friday night in The Lakes Apartments complex off Sandy Forks Road, Raleigh police said.

Matthew Lanard Myzick, 28, is accused of shooting Jamison Matthew Stanley outside at 6615 The Lakes Drive around 7:30 p.m., police said.

Stanley suffered serious, life-threatening injuries to the lower chest area. He was in serious condition at WakeMed Sunday afternoon.

Myzick was arrested Saturday morning on charges of attempted murder and possession with intent to sell or deliver marijuana. He was placed in the Wake County jail.

Police said a witness described the shooting as a possible robbery, but officers declined to comment on a motive.
