ATF offers reward in gun shop theft

— Authorities are offering a $5,000 reward for information about the theft of 19 weapons taken from a federally licensed gun shop in Raleigh.

The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives is investigating the burglary of Eagle 1 Law Enforcement Supply, at 4410 Craftsman Drive. Wayne L. Dixie Jr., special agent in charge of the Charlotte ATF office, said the burglary happened May 11 in the early morning.

The agency declined to release more information.

Anyone with information about the crime is asked to call the ATF office at 704-716-1060, the ATF gun hotline at 800-283-4867 or Raleigh police at 919-834-4357.

Callers may remain anonymous.

    I guess those responsible gun shop owners failed to properly secure their guns, so now we have many more criminals with easy access to firearms. Who woulda thunk it.
