I made an error last week in my post about guest star day at the Marbles and UNC-TV booth at the State Fair. The characters were there last weekend, but science play is actually this Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., at their joint tent at the fair. It's right next to Dorton Arena.

Here's a description of the fun, courtesy of Marbles: "Experiment and explore galore with Sid the Science Kid, Team Marbles, and UNC-TV! Young scientists learn by asking lots of questions, and we’ll have plenty to talk about as we discover super small science through Nano activities and mysterious magnet play to build your brain on Saturday, Oct. 26, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the N.C. State Fair. And not only will you get to meet our PBS guest star Sid the Science Kid, we'll also have UNC-TV Science producers on hand to chat about their scientific journeys through our science-rich state! Enjoy great fun for the whole family on Science Play Saturday at UNC-TV’s pavilion with really cool science activities presented by Marbles Kids Museum, UNC-TV and VINCI."

My apologies for the confusion! I dropped by the tent yesterday - as usual, lots of fun, low-key activities for the younger crowd, including a variety of cut outs of favorite UNC-TV characters for those photo opportunities. It's all free!
