RALEIGH, N.C. — AT&T announced Friday it plans to hire more than 100 workers across North Carolina to keep up with growing network demand.

The openings will be mostly technician and retail positions, and 30 of the jobs will be new. The company currently employs about 6,900 workers in North Carolina.

In a news release, the company highlighted its growth, including the launch of its 4G LTE networks in 14 North Carolina markets this year.

“While we are investing in our North Carolina networks to deliver the quality of advanced services our customers need and rely upon, we are also investing in people as part of our commitment to exceptional customer service,” Venessa Harrison, president of AT&T North Carolina, said in a statement. “We appreciate the opportunity to serve a state which welcomes these sorts of investments and look forward to welcoming the newest members of the AT&T family.”
