    "However, if the father is so dangerous that we need a statewide manhunt if he picks the kid up from daycare, what the heck was mom thinking when she decided to have a kid with him?" bill0

    It might not be that he is necessarily a danger to the kid, but that he does not have custody and should not have picked him up and that no one knew where he was taking him.

    I don't care if its an old lady who just wants to give him cookies and toys... if someone was to walk out of a day care with MY kid who shouldn't, you'd better believe I'd do everything to find them.

    lineofduty....Seems you are taking a lot of heat today. Keep ticking them off with rational thoughts and lucid behaviour. Semper Fi.

    First - I'm glad the child is safe.

    However, if the father is so dangerous that we need a statewide manhunt if he picks the kid up from daycare, what the heck was mom thinking when she decided to have a kid with him?

    @LineOfDuty

    "These Amber alerts are worthless."

    Tell that to the 554 children who have been found because of them.

    "There needs to be a little screen in the car that shows them."

    I'm sure once the technology is out there, that may happen.

    "Lot of good it does that everyone reading this is sitting on the couch at home watching the flintstones. I guess its better than nothing."

    A lot of people check the news during the day from work, or actually leave their houses in the evening, so regardless of where they see the article chances are they WILL be out somewhere in the near future and can keep an eye out.

    "I like the hwy sign, AMBER ALERT call 511. Directing everyone to be distracted by making a phone call driving down the freeway."

    See, not everyone is at home on the couch. Also, since there are plenty of self-absorbed people like yourself, I sincerely doubt that "everyone" is driving down the highway making that call.
