WEAVERVILLE, N.C. — Asheville-based King Bio Homeopathics has bought the site of a former compact disc manufacturing plant that closed in 2016.
King Bio's founder Frank King tells the Asheville Citizen-Times that he and his wife paid about $8 million for the 416,000-square-foot facility and the 33-acre property in Weaverville. He says King Bio will use party of the facility that previously housed the Arvato plant and lease other areas.
King Bio manufactures more than 500 natural medicine products under its own company name and more than 500 products for other companies. King Bio employs about 80 workers and already has more than 300,000 square feet of manufacturing space.
King and his wife, Suzie, are partners in King Bio. The couple also operates Carolina Bison, a bison ranch that supplies several grocery chains.
