RALEIGH, N.C. — The social media gurus behind downtown Raleigh's "Live, Work, Play" have partnered with Offline Media to come up with a summer contest designed to draw visitors to the capital city and to push residents to try new activities within city limits.

The Downtown Raleigh Bucket List features 16 suggested experiences, starting with this weekend's Artsplosure, to cross off the social calendar.

Artsplosure, Raleigh's spring arts festival, kicked off Friday and features music, food, an art market and crafts for kids. It's an annual downtown draw.

The rest of the items on the bucket list are similar – comedy at Goodnights, a rickshaw ride and visits to local museums and breweries. Participants snap a photo with each experience and post it to social media to earn points and prizes.

Raleigh resident Duncan Moon said the Raleigh scene is a perfect place to support such an endeavor. "It's a little of everything, isn't it," he said. "It's diverse as you can get."

Corey Mason agrees that downtown is the place to be. "We're telling our friends to move here," he said.

As Triangle residents live out their lists, downtown boosters hope to earn a spot.

"There are a thousand things I want to do," Moon said. "I won't get to all of them, but I want to travel, I want to have dinner in Raleigh. I want to go to Paris again. There are a thousand things I want to do."
