DURHAM, N.C. — This weekend, the Bull City is about to get even cooler.
The first Art of Cool Festival will celebrate jazz, R&B and soul with more than 30 performances over two days.

Everything kicks off Friday with a free festival and food truck rodeo starting at 4 p.m. at Durham Central Park. Peter Lamb and the Wolves and Mel Melton and the Wicked Mojos are among those providing music.

The Bull City's own Toon and the Real Laww highlight Saturday's lineup, all leading up to the Carolina Soul Tribute concert at Carolina Theatre. This show pays tribute to North Carolina jazz legends Nina Simone, John Coltrane, Thelonious Monk and Roberta Flack.

Single day tickets are $65 and a two-day pass is $120. VIP tickets are $275 and get you access to the exclusive opening party at the Nasher Museum on Wednesday, access to VIP lounges and secret VIP venues and priority access to all shows and a swag bag. Tickets can be purchased through Ticketmaster.

WRAL's sister-station Fox 50 is a sponsor of this event.
