Art of Cool Fest launches Kickstarter

The Art of Cool Festival is April 24-25, 2015, but they are running a Kickstarter now.

DURHAM, N.C. — The Art of Cool has launched a Kickstarter to help fund their 2015 festival.

Last year's inaugural festival (also partially funded by a Kickstarter) celebrated jazz with two days of music at various outdoor and indoor music venues in downtown Durham. They hope to build on that momentum, but putting on a three-day music festival with top talent isn't cheap. Art of Cool is seeking $35,000 before Sept. 20. The funds will go directly to artist expenses.

The 2015 festival is scheduled for April 24-26 and will feature two outdoor stages, five indoor venues and more than 30 performers.

In addition to tickets events, there will be a free festival kick-off party with live music and a food truck rodeo at Durham Central Park and a free day party at American Tobacco.
