Art museum plans event for teens this Saturday

Because there aren't a big variety of large events just for teens, I thought I'd point out this event at the N.C. Museum of Art on Saturday.

Because there aren't a big variety of large events just for teens, I thought I'd point out this event at the N.C. Museum of Art on Saturday.

The museum's Teen Art Scene runs noon to 3 p.m., Saturday. It's free and open to the public. No pre-registration is required. You can just show up. The event features Enloe High School's dance troupe, two high school musical acts, Illuminating Daydream and Hannah Newberry, among other activities.

There also will be photography-inspired activities, including a photo booth and graffiti wall, local food trucks and a chance to celebrate winners of this year's Teens, Inspired art competition and students in the museum's online high school courses. In fact, there will be a free bus from Hickory Art Museum bringing teens to the event.
