Arson cited as cause of Raleigh house fire

Sixty firefighters responded to the fire at 3718 Rivermist Drive shortly after midnight and had the fire controlled within an hour, authorities said.

RALEIGH, N.C. — An early Wednesday house fire in southeast Raleigh was set, authorities said.
Sixty firefighters responded to the fire at 3718 Rivermist Drive shortly after midnight and had the fire controlled within an hour, authorities said. The fire was contained to the home's attic.

Five people were able to get out of the home without injury.

The Raleigh Fire Department listed the cause of the fire as arson, but had no comment on a possible suspect or motive.
