— An early Wednesday house fire in southeast Raleigh was set, authorities said.

Sixty firefighters responded to the fire at 3718 Rivermist Drive shortly after midnight and had the fire controlled within an hour, authorities said. The fire was contained to the home's attic.

Five people were able to get out of the home without injury.

The Raleigh Fire Department listed the cause of the fire as arson, but had no comment on a possible suspect or motive.

If five people had to escape the a fire cited as arson, then who set it? A family member who had to "go to the store for something"? Or an outsider who had a grievence with someone in the house? Sad all around.

I hope this isn't foreclosure related, but it is on a lot of people's minds these days, especially in neighborhoods that sprung up overnight with shaky financing paying for it all.
