Arrest made in Raleigh shooting

A 30-year-old Raleigh man is accused in a Nov. 7 shooting on Nelson Street, police said.

RALEIGH, N.C. — A 30-year-old Raleigh man is accused in a Nov. 7 shooting on Nelson Street, police said. 

Derrick Donte Massenberg faces a charge of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury, according to court documents. 

The charge stems from a shooting in the 2100 block of Nelson Street, off Poole Road, where a man was shot in the side.

In connection with the investigation, police searched a duplex at 202-1/2 Heck Street and seized a black firearm holster and other items.
