Arrest made in Hurdle Mills rape
The woman, 83, was home alone when a man approached her, told her to close her eyes and committed the act, authorities said.

ROXBORO, N.C. — Person County authorities arrested Sammy Davis Hatchett, 44, of 75 Foxcroft Drive in Timberlake, for the alleged rape of a woman on Feb. 11.
Hatchett was charged with felony counts of first degree rape, first degree burglary, first degree kidnapping and first degree sexual offense and held on $1 million secured bond.
Sheriff Dewey Jones said, "From all the evidence we have collected to this point, I feel confident in this arrest."
Sgt. Jason Wilborn said the alleged attack on an 83-year-old woman in her home appears to have been random.
