FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — Investigators on Monday announced the arrest of a 26-year-old man for the 2013 killing of a Fort Bragg Special Forces soldier.

Donovan Lamar Moon, of 1458 Delmar Street in Fayetteville, is charged with first degree murder, first degree burglary, two counts of first degree kidnapping, robbery with a dangerous weapon, felonious conspiracy to commit burglary and felonious conspiracy to commit robbery. Moon was being processed at the Cumberland County jail Monday evening.

Sgt. 1st Class Sean Wayne Wells, 35, was killed on Oct. 7, 2013 after two men forced their way into his Beaver Run Drive home. Wells fought with the two men before shots were fired, police said.

His wife, who was home at the time, escaped uninjured with their then 4-year-old child and went to a neighbor's house to call 911.

In a 911 recording, she said the men, whom she described only as wearing black, entered through a door and wanted money and the keys to her 2012 Toyota Camry. She also said she heard three gunshots.

Investigators have not said if more arrests are expected.
