AURORA, COLO. — An armed man barricaded in a mobile home for nine hours surrendered to Aurora Police Wednesday evening.

The unidentified suspect held teams of police and a SWAT team at bay since around 9 a.m. inside the Friendly Village Mobile Home Park near North Airport Boulevard and E. 22nd Ave.

At one point during the tense standoff shots were fired, but it's not clear who pulled the trigger. Police say no officers were injured during the incident. The suspect was taken into custody.

Police sent alerts to nearby homes and businesses asking bystanders to stay inside as a precaution, authorities said.

"There is some reason to believe this man may do himself or others harm," an Aurora Police official said. "That is why we are treating it this way."
