NASH COUNTY — The first federal trial to determine if the U.S. Constitution prohibits states from outlawing same-sex marriage gets under way Monday, and the two gay couples on whose behalf the case was brought will be among the first witnesses
This will make history either way.
One, it will be a shame when it is voted that he government can deny a right to a group of people. THese people are not asking for special treatment, they are wanting equal rights as citizens of the USA.
Two, it will be great that a civil right is given to this group of people. This can be added to the accolade of equal rights, voting for women, freedom from slavery, marriage between blacks and whites.
Someone would still speak against the latter mentioned but this is America.
The government gives out marriage license = this is a civil act isn't it?
