The Prom Shoppe in Apex, which provides prom dresses, shoes, jewelry and accessories for free to needy teens, is looking for donations and dresses.

The event, which started about five years ago, will be held over two days this year - from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m., Feb. 20, and 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., Feb. 21, at Apex United Methodist Church, 100 S. Hughes St., in the church's Christian Life Center.

Stacy Kivett, an organizer, tells me they could use donations and are looking specifically for dresses size 14 and up, make-up and jewelry.

If you have something to donate, email Kivett at prom.shoppe@apexumcfamily.org. It's a great way to clean out your closet and help some teens make some memories.
