Apex bank robber kept his shoes dry

Po0lice are searching for a man who robbed a First Citizens Bank branch on Vision Drive in Apex on Dec. 31, 2015.

— Police said Monday that they are still searching for a man who robbed an Apex bank on New Year's Eve while wearing plastic grocery bags over his shoes.

The man walked into the First Citizens Bank branch at 1070 Vision Drive at about 3:40 p.m. Thursday, handed a note to a teller demanding money and fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash.

No weapon was shown, and no injuries were reported.

The robber was described as black, about 5 feet tall and 150 to 160 pounds. He was wearing a royal blue hooded sweatshirt, jeans, a black scarf over his face and gloves.

Anyone with information about the robbery is asked to call the Apex Police Department at 919-362-8661 or send an anonymous tip to TIP411 using keyword ApexPD.

    Maybe the bags were to prevent or alter shoe prints. Why is this being reported four days after the fact?
