Apartment Community Takes Donations for Residents After Fire

An apartment complex in Carrboro is taking donations a day after a fire displaced 20 of its residents.

CARRBORO, N.C. — An apartment complex in Carrboro is taking donations for 20 residents displaced by a fire on Sunday.

Building G in the Colonial Village at Highland Hills apartment complex was destroyed by the fire, which started around 2 a.m.

One woman died in the fire, and two more were injured. Both were listed in stable condition at UNC Hospitals on Monday.

The apartment complex management relocated the displaced residents into vacant units on-site. The Red Cross provided immediate help the fire victims.

Donations of clothes, food and other essential items are being accepted at the management office at 180 BPW Club Road.
