Angus Barn announces death of longtime employee

Posted November 14, 2013

— The Angus Barn announced the death of one of its longest serving employees, Betty Shugart, who died Tuesday.

Shugart worked at the Raleigh restaurant for more than 50 years, beginning as a server, advancing to senior dining room manager and finally as kitchen manager.

"Betty oversaw one of the busiest kitchens in America, created recipes, trained hundreds of prep cooks and set a standard of excellence unmatched by anyone," the Angus Barn said on Facebook Thursday. "She truly was an irreplaceable pillar at The Angus Barn and will be missed there forever."
